Exceptional Activities You Can Do When Visiting France

17/9/2019

  • Exceptionally warm: Red pepper village
A beautiful tiny town of Espelette in the Pyreness could definitely stole your heart once you set your foot on it. They offer you a bright red pepper across the cloud white houses and clean streets. You can perpetuate your memories here with such a view that you’d absolutely love to reminiscing back again in the future.
  • Exceptionally Silent: pull an all-nighter where Napoleon spent his last
The tiny island called Ile d’Aix near La Rochelle goes silent once the excursionists have returned home. You can rent a bicycle and circle around for less than an hour and go to extravagant museums full of passionate purpose. Before the British evacuated him to St. Helena, this island was the last place on France Napoleon spent his last night at.
  • Exceptionally Wily: Stay in a hotel that helped defeat the Nazis
The bustling city of Lyon already has many things to recommend: excellent art, Roman ruins and cuisine that is high even by French standards. But who knew you could stay the night at a hotel that played an important role in the French Resistance? The hotel name is Cour des Loges. Explore the old city and be amazed at the strange history Europe has experienced over the last 1000 years or so.
  • Exceptionally Toothsome: Have you tried Quernons d’Ardoise yet?
You need to go to Angers to try the lavender-laced Quernons d’Ardoise. Quernons d'Ardoise originated from the Anjou, in the Loire. They take their colour from the slate that decorates the castle and their interior with something tastier. They have three main ingredients: caramel, chocolate and nut. Basically, they're caramelized praline, coated with violet chocolate with chopped almonds and hazelnuts inside. It should’ve given you a taste of heaven!
  • Exceptionally Adventuresome Paris: Hop on in A Hot Air Balloon
Seeing Paris from above is probably one of the most romantic ways to visit the most romantic city in the world. The most attractive moments to floating up are at dawn or just before sunset, as the sun says its good morning or goodnight to the world. There are several companies that run balloon trips including Ballon Air de Paris and Aerfun.
  • Exceptionally Seasonal: The Paris Plages (Paris Beaches)
Summer is here and you would like to visit the Paris beaches. It is perfect. Because Paris greets July with four weeks of The Paris Plages. Banks along the Seine exchange traffic for treats, as ice cream sellers, concerts and sandy beaches create what we might call "Seine side holidays". Take a lounger, read a book or play beach sports and kayaking.
Exceptionally Tasty: Go on Wine Tasting
Go to wineries on St Emilion, Bordeaux for varieties that you’d like to taste. You can do some wine tasting sessions in St Emilion and learning on how good the wines are there. You can also bring home wines that you really love to give to your loved ones back home or even just for yourself. I bet your future self would thank you for it. If you’re not a fan of wines, then lucky you, the region of Champagne in France produces one or two bottles of bubbly that are so worth bringing home.
You have learned some exceptional things to do in France and I bet you would like to make a visit soon.
